From 4 to 21 May 2021 year students 5-year students of pharmaceutical disciplines on the basis of an agreement on professional practice of toxicological chemistry at chemical faculty of Karaganda University named after Academician E.A. Buketov.
On May 14 this year Rector of the Academy “Bolashaq” K.N. Menlibayev and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical disciplines Kaldybaeva A.K. visited the Faculty of Chemistry. Deputy Dean Kezdikbaeva A.T. and Head of the Department of Organic Chemistry and Polymers Zhumagalieva T.S. familiarized with training laboratories and laboratory engineering profile “Physical and chemical research methods”.
Students of the Academy during practice worked in training laboratories of the faculty, conducted qualitative reactions to detect some volatile substances – the reaction of formation of a silver mirror, the reaction with Filling’s reagent, the reaction to the detection of codeine, etc.
Reactions for determination of ethyl alcohol, reactions for cresols, phenols were performed. Also conducted an extraction on the extraction of biologically active substances from herbs to determine alkaloids. Students worked on a router evaporator, where they evaporated the solvent and obtained a fairly pure extractant, then conducted chromatography on plates, on a photocalorimeter.
Students were given drugs to determine the optical density, the results of which was to determine the concentration of unknown substances.
