Every leader has to have a certain height to conquer, a dream to do something significant. And you have to put your credibility, your future at stake to achieve that goal. This was the case with the idea of building a new independent state and its new capital.
Nursultan Nazarbayev “Kazakhstan’s way”.
The Day of the First President was established to celebrate and recognize the outstanding services of the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Republic and is celebrated since 2012.
The historical background and basis for choosing the date of the holiday was the event that took place on December 1, 1991: as a result of the first national elections Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev was re-elected as President of the Kazakh SSR.
On the eve of the Day of the First President in the Academy “Bolashaq” among the students of all educational programs pro-rector Akhmetova B.T. and SIC “Rukhaniyat”. conducted the quiz “Personality in History, History in Man”.
Objective: to instill in student youth a sense of Kazakh patriotism, to form citizenship and tolerance.
Objectives:
– To give an idea about activity of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Leader of the Nation N.A. Nazarbayev – the guarantor of stability, consent, strengthening of interethnic unity.
– To contribute to the development of cognitive activity of students, to expand knowledge about the activities of Elbasy.
– To assist young people in discovering their creative potential.
– Teach participants to mobilise their intellectual potential in a competitive environment.
Students answered quiz questions and wrote an essay on the activities of the First President – “Personality in History, History in Man”.
Asilova Sabina, a student of the IN-20-1 group, notes:
In my opinion, Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev is a large-scale personality of modern world history. Because he has managed to bring Kazakhstan to a high international level. And in general, the entire post-Soviet era of Kazakhstan’s existence and development as an independent, sovereign state is linked to the personality of Nursultan Abishevich. During the years of independence, many economic, political and social reforms have been implemented under the leadership of the First President.
I believe that the phenomenal results achieved by the Republic during the years of independence are the merit of Yelbasa, thanks to his personal qualities such as diligence, talent, purposefulness, energy, deep knowledge of the pulse of life, an accurate hit in the “ten” in determining the interests of his people, outstanding ability to see great in small things, to make quick, immediate and at the same time strategically balanced decisions, the ability not only to set a task, but also to take highly qualified participation in the development of the programme and the organisation of its implementation, based on the enormous personal experience of industrial, labour, social, political and government activities.
Undoubtedly, our country has come a long way in economic development. However, as the state reaches new heights, there is a growing need for further modernisation of the political system, which is actually happening in our country.
It is impossible not to mention the high international prestige, which is a direct result of the country’s internal achievements, its peace-loving policy, as well as of such global initiatives as the abandonment of nuclear weapons, successful cooperation with many countries, and much more.
In general, Kazakhstan today is undoubtedly an outstanding achievement of the First President, under whose direct leadership the formation of a new statehood took place. In the most difficult domestic and foreign policy conditions, the leader assumed historical responsibility for the creation of an independent and developed democratic state, managed to preserve the integrity of the country, to raise its economy, to form a positive image abroad.
Thus, Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev has a huge role in the formation of our republic.
Alexander Svechnikov, a student of the U-20-1 group, writes:
Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev – a large-scale personality of modern world history. He has managed to bring Kazakhstan to a high international level, having declared to the whole community of countries about a peaceful, nuclear-free policy of the state.
During the years of independence, economic, political and social reforms have been implemented under the leadership of Yelbasa. Nursultan Nazarbayev’s strategic thinking, ability to anticipate the course of history and visionary, verified policy have ensured Kazakhstan’s sustainable development on a multi-ethnic basis, rightfully putting him among the progressive thinking politicians of the world.

Since childhood, Nursultan Nazarbayev has been a very cognitive child. We know from reading his biography that he was very fond of reading various books, he also studied well at school, and in schools he showed himself on the positive side. He was a very interesting person. But the main thing that distinguished him was his independence in his judgments and actions and his constant striving for leadership. He was able to build relationships with his peers from the very first minutes of acquaintance, was a “wizard” and public organiser. He liked to joke, sang well, had people at his disposal and quickly became the soul of the company. Constant work and regular exercise made him physically strong, he looked noticeably older than his peers.
Mansur Alina, a student of the PIP-20-1 group, stands for:
Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev – First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Nursultan Abishevich – author of many books: “The Kazakhstan way”, “Steel profile”, “In the flow of history” and many others. Nursultan Abishevich has received many awards. Thanks to him, many countries have learned about us. Now many countries are considered with the opinion of our President. They have great respect for Nursultan Abishevich.
To always be in uniform, A.N.Nazarbayev enjoys sports. His favourite activities are tennis and skiing. He was a worthy President of our beloved Kazakhstan.
Natalya Dmitrieva, a student of the IN-18-1k group, emphasizes:
The first President N.A.Nazarbayev is the leader of our republic. Of course, bright individuals and talented managers exist in our society, but the scale of their political influence is much greater than that of Nursultan Nazarbayev. The political figure of the First President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, embodied the only authority and ultimate authority that is recognised by virtually all segments and groups of the population. Despite his post-war childhood, Nursultan was able to achieve inimitable heights. Everyone can’t do this. His contribution to the development of the country was enormous, in fact he alone led Kazakhstan through the storms of Gorbachev’s perestroika and the collapse of the USSR, through the “dashing”, as we now call it, 1990s, creating and giving a decent life to the new independent state. Having given the Republic of Kazakhstan new laws, new borders, a new market economy and an independent foreign policy. It is one of the most experienced politicians in the CIS and the world.
Makarchuk Yana, a student of the IN-20-1 group, focuses her attention:
President – elected head of state in countries with republican or mixed form of government, elected for a fixed term. For a long time in our country, the president was Nursultan Nazarbayev. Now he has received the status of Yelbasa. Nursultan Nazarbayev was a recognised leader in the world community of one of the largest, fastest growing and most promising successful countries, which is being actively introduced into the global economic and political system.
Among his achievements are the following:
– The state borders of sovereign Kazakhstan have been defined.
– Kazakhstan’s statehood was created on the splinters of the disintegrated Empire – the USSR.
– Market economy mechanisms have been formed. Stable economic growth has been ensured.
– A new capital, Astana, has been built. – The country has successfully emerged from two world economic crises, proving its worthiness.
– National unity is ensured on the basis of the country’s economic success and the establishment of the principles of equality of peoples.
– The welfare of the country’s citizens has grown rapidly, and a middle class and national entrepreneurship have been formed.
– Sustainable development and growth of the country was ensured on the basis of strategic plans (Strategy for the Formation and Development of the State (1992), Strategy “Kazakhstan-2030” (1997), Strategy “Kazakhstan-2050” (2012) and the program “Looking into the future modernization of public consciousness” (12 April 2017).
The first President of Kazakhstan can be confidently called the architect of the modern Kazakhstan model of statehood.
Yelbasy laid a strong foundation for independent Kazakhstan. Thanks to this, the country is developing confidently, consistently and through reforms, overcoming all internal and external challenges and problems.
By defining the main prospects for Kazakhstan’s development, the First President has created a foundation for the people of Kazakhstan to be confident in their future.
