On May 18-19, 2023, the head of the Department of General Education Disciplines, A.U. Ilyasova, as a member of the State Commission for the Complete Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repression, together with the head of the Project Office, S.A. Kasymov, and a regional working group consisting of scientists and researchers of these problems studied the funds of the 1920s-1950s of the State Archive of the Karkaraly district in Karkaralinsk, got acquainted with the funds of the State Archive of the Karaganda region, the archive of the Department of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Records of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Karaganda region and the State Archive of the Karaganda region for scientific and technical documentation.
Close attention was paid to archival documents that had not been previously studied and not put into scientific circulation, such as decisions of aul, rural districts, district executive committees on the confiscation of property of bais and kulaks; on the suppression of popular uprisings and protests; the following archival funds, such as the People’s Court of Karkaraly district, Karkaraly district prosecutor’s office, documents of village councils of Karkaraly district.
In addition, the funds of the regional executive committee, the district executive committee, rural districts; the regional prosecutor’s office, the regional court, documents of the regional and district party commission, the Telman district party, containing information on persons subjected to repeated repression by the totalitarian system and showing the process of accusing citizens of political articles as anti-Soviet and counter-revolutionary elements. The identified documents are subject to a thorough comprehensive historical and legal analysis.
