Jury members gave each submitted work a score on a scale from 1 to 10. All the results were summarized in a single statement and the winners of the contest were determined. The jury shared their impressions of the contest works.

Professor Bayan Ibraeva, Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication of “Bolashaq Academy” assessed the works, noting those that in her opinion corresponded to the essence of the competition, paying attention to the age of the contestants. Bayan Mukushevna very much liked the works that the children drew by hand.

In turn, Taisia Vladimirovna Maryshkina, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication of “Bolashaq Academy”, as a person who is well versed in technology, was attracted by the works in the form of digital cards created from photographs.

The head of the Karaganda Regional Museum of Fine Arts B.S. Kudabaeva, a member of the jury, considered the works submitted to the contest in terms of their performance by the children themselves. A number of drawings, unfortunately, copied from coloring books and made with the help of adults, said Bibigul Sagintayevna, but it is encouraging that there are more original, thoughtful and creative drawings.

According to the sponsor of the contest – internet-cards store “Pastila”, the works that took Grand Prix and I place are perfect for postcards: all colors are correct, all pictures draw attention, as postcards on the theme of the contest, they are done diligently. Also, the work of Daria Petrenko was very well done and the proportions of the elements in the postcard were appropriate. Taisia Shlyakhova’s artwork is very nice and very traditional but at the same time it is interesting that instead of a horse a dinosaur would look funny on the postcard. Pekhtereva Irina has a peculiar picture.

The painstakingly executed work by Kizdarbekov Timur is very distinctive and on closer inspection has some relation to the Gaudi style. The drawing by Alexandra Krivosheeva is quite traditional and reflects the whole of Kazakhstan well enough. A member of the jury liked the color scheme and the representation of the regions of our country in the form of a map, which is very valuable as an educational resource.

Despite the traditional subject matter of Alexandra Krivosheeva’s work, according to the sponsor of the contest, this drawing was a clear favorite of British paleontologist Gareth Dyke.

Dmitry Malakhov, a colleague of Gareth, gave the only highest score to the work of Ruslan Morozov, which was also noted by the sponsor of the project, praising the graphics and clarity, calling it ideal for the logo.

The master of modular origami Zhuldyz Erkinkyzy, noted that in each presented drawing was invested a lot of historical knowledge, artistic skills and creative skills. Participants revealed their compositional vision of ancient flora and fauna of Kazakhstan, linking the course of history and traveling within time.

The head of the Internet store of postcards “Pastila” Irina Evgenievna, from a professional point of view marked out a very bright, artistic drawing of Daria Klevtsova, which will look well enough on a postcard. Original children’s drawing by Aisha Shashubayeva with a map of Kazakhstan, which unconventionally presented a species of ancient mammal. A funny drawing by Baqytgul Töleubayeva – a pretty dinosaur would look great on a postcard as a children’s drawing.

Representatives of the co-organizer of the Republican postcard competition of Biology and Geography Faculty of Karaganda University named after E. Buketov Ishmuratova Margarita Yulayevna and Aitkulov Aidar Muratovich were very critical about the choice of favorites. Scientists-biologists noted works that had a scientific component, not just a pretty picture, while demonstrating a deep knowledge of children’s literature and science fiction, pointing to the borrowing of some ideas for their works by the authors of the postcards.

The owner of the greeting card store “Belcards” (St. Petersburg, Russia) addressed to the participants of the contest: “First of all, I would like to note that all works that took part in the contest were wonderful. It was hard to mark someone out. After viewing there were only positive emotions and impressions. The theme of the contest is relevant to our world and I am happy that the children took part. When choosing works the preference was given to bright, colorful work. I also liked the drawings which reflected the national colors of the country. I wish further success in the development of paleontology in Kazakhstan and that this contest would not be the last.

According to the majority of jury members the work of Esimbek Eliman was the absolute winner, because it shows a harmonious relationship between the past and present of Kazakhstan, the unusual approach to the composition of the picture and the appearance of two times in one space. A very interesting idea to popularize Kazakhstan in the global world.

“I would like to thank you for the opportunity to evaluate the creative work of the children. Thank you, but it was not easy! A lot of the work deserves special attention. Unfortunately, we will not be able to award them all, but we will never stop them from developing in the right direction. So create, achieve, learn! Every step to reach the goal is important. I also want to note the great artistic talent of the guys, as well as the ability to compose compositions, to be inspired by what they see, but not to copy someone else’s. This is commendable! I wish you creative success and new heights! – Anastasia Kolina, graphic designer, postcrosser (Mogilev, Belarus), a member of the jury, left her wishes for the participants.).
