On September 12, as part of research work with students, senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication Mombekova Meruert Maratkyzy held an online seminar on the topic “Fundamentals of scientific publications. Types of scientific publications. Scientific article”, which attracted the attention of students and undergraduates seeking to develop in the scientific field. An important topic raised in the last message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was discussed during the event. The President stressed the need to involve young people in research activities, noting that students and young scientists play a key role in the development of innovation and progress in the country.
During the seminar, the participants examined in detail the basics of scientific publications: from the choice of topic and structure of the article to the requirements for scientific materials. Special attention was paid to the main types of scientific articles — review and practical. Review articles are an analysis of existing research in a particular field, while practical publications reflect the results of the author’s own research.
The seminar also highlighted important aspects of publishing activities, namely: what scientific publications are needed for. It was explained to the participants that publications are necessary for improving the qualification category, receiving scholarships and grants, as well as for admission to master’s and doctoral studies. Scientific works allow young researchers to express themselves in the academic environment and open up new career opportunities.
The seminar became a useful platform for students and undergraduates seeking to start or continue their path in scientific activity, and emphasized the importance of publications for professional and academic growth.
At the end of the seminar, the participants received valuable recommendations on the preparation and design of scientific articles, as well as practical advice on choosing academic journals for publication. Special attention was paid to how to present the results of their research correctly so that they attract the interest of the scientific community and comply with international standards.
In addition, the importance of regular participation in research projects and conferences was emphasized, which contributes to the expansion of professional ties, the exchange of experience and the improvement of personal qualifications. Meruert Maratkyzy emphasized that successful publications not only contribute to academic advancement, but also open up additional opportunities for scholarships, grants and participation in international programs.
Thus, the seminar not only deepened the knowledge of students and undergraduates about scientific publications, but also inspired them to actively participate in research activities, realizing its importance for academic and professional careers.
