Participation of the Department of Pedagogy in the development of an international program on addiction prevention

On November 11-13, 2024, Astana hosted the 3rd stage of the development and training of trainers for addiction prevention training. Alua Sabitovna Abrakhmanova, PhD, Head of the Department of Pedagogy, took part in this training seminar.

This event was organized on the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the Spanish State Fund FIIAPP and the Program for the Prevention of Drug Trafficking in Central Asia (CADAP). The international experts in this program were specialists from Poland: Janusz Seroslawski, Piotr Jablonski, Artur Malczewski and Bohuslava Bukowska.

The training workshop focused on training trainers (ToT) on two products:

Guidance (guidance) for a selective prevention program aimed at women and vulnerable groups (youth, migrants and other vulnerable people)
an educational package for interventions aimed at reducing stigma
During the seminar, the participants actively analyzed the techniques and methods of preventive work with different categories of people belonging to vulnerable groups. The course of the training aimed at reducing stigma was also analyzed.

At the end of the seminar, the participants were awarded a trainer’s certificate in these areas.
