27 May 2020, Director of “Rukhaniyat” center Aupenova A.U. took part in the online panel discussion “Science and Invention in the Gulag during the Great Patriotic War” held by the Gulag Museum together with the Museum of Cosmonautics (Russian Federation).
As part of the discussion, Ilya Udovenko, Senior Researcher of the Gulag Museum of History, and Vyacheslav Klimentov, Deputy Director for Research of the Cosmonautics Museum, discussed how science developed and planes, motors, jet engines and radio receivers were created in special design offices during the Great Patriotic War.
Participants of the panel discussion touched upon the most topical issues of the closed-type design bureau activity at factories, research institutes, laboratories where prisoners worked scientists and specialists for creation and improvement of equipment.
