On August 17, Nur Otan party primaries started in Kazakhstan. Candidates were registered until August 28, and the internal party selection will last until October 3, 2020.

This is one of the modern mechanisms of internal party democracy, which is the most important element of the “reset” of Nur Otan party announced by Elbasy.

The main purpose of the primaries is to identify new leaders through competition to further the formation of party lists in the upcoming elections to the Majilis and maslikhats of all levels.
In the history of Kazakhstan, this is the first truly great opportunity to pass to the Majilis and maslikhats to people who are not indifferent to the fate of the state, as well as have the desire and ability to work.
Any citizen of Kazakhstan, who shares the values of the party and has the right to vote, can become a candidate.
