On April 15, 2020 at 20:00 there was a meeting of faculty and Bolashaq Academy students with Jim Baker, a chemistry teacher from Great Britain, whose experience of teaching is 49 years. Jim kindly agreed to show us a free alternative to Zoom – Jitsi, which unlike a famous relative has no limits on the number of participants and time, and much more.
Jim is a fan of Google products. One of the things he does with Google Calendar is fascinating, because his teaching methodology is designed so that in online lessons, students ask questions that Jim answers. In other words, he doesn’t inform students, but he answers their questions, which of course requires an incredible effort from the teacher, because students still have to learn.
Jim showed us another great Google product called “Voice Input”, which allows us to practice pronunciation and which we immediately tried out.
Next Wednesday, we’ll be learning together to create separate monologue and dialogue practice rooms to prepare for our final exams.
