Project “Karlag: Memory for the Future” is an international historical, educational, research and charitable project engaged in the study of political repression in the Soviet Union during the totalitarian regime, contributing to the moral and legal rehabilitation of the memory of those who were subjected to political repression.
The author and scientific director of the project is Corresponding Member of the NAS RK, Doctor of Law, Professor Nurlan Orynbasarovich Dulatbekov.
The Bolashaq Academy started its work on the project “Karlag: Memory for the Future” in 2006 and continues to this day. The project is known in more than 30 countries around the world.
Scientists, teachers, writers and journalists, together with student youth and with the participation of international experts, have already prepared more than 40 books and held many different events in order to objectively study the history of their homeland and the fate of the repressed.
Museum of the memory of victims of political repression in the village of Dolinka on the materials of the participant in the project “Karlag: Memory for the Future” A.U. Aupenova’s “Specifics of school education in the Gulag system (on the example of the Dolinka Karlag School)”, where the author gives a detailed analysis of school education in the system of correctional labour camps on the example of the Karaganda correctional labour camp of the NKVD of the USSR during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) prepared a documentary film “Foundation and development of the school in Dolinka settlement”.
