Freshman Week was held in the Academy library for students, within the framework of which bibliographic lessons and study tours were held.
The staff of the library told about the structure of the library, rules of using the book collection and available electronic resources, informed about the subtleties of searching in the electronic library system Irbis. Students showed great interest in book exhibitions, such as: “New humanitarian knowledge. 100 new textbooks in Kazakh language”, “KARLAG: memory for the future”, “Chrisscross of antiterrorist security”.
The students were shown how to work and search for necessary literature in the “Reader”, which is designed to provide access to databases of the Electronic Catalogue “IRBIS”.
The students were also introduced to the books translated into Kazakh as part of the New Humanitarian Knowledge Project. 100 new textbooks in the Kazakh language”. These include works on philosophy, sociology, psychology, economics and other disciplines.
It was recommended that students regularly browse the library’s website, where they can find new entries in the library, access the database of the electronic catalogue and get acquainted with the works of the Academy teaching staff.
