The first part of the report examined the theoretical aspects of research competence, such as its importance in the modern educational context, the differences between competence and teacher competence, as well as the classification of research activities (educational research, research and project). Special attention was paid to how these activities are interrelated and complement each other in the process of preparing students for future professional activities.
The second part of the report presented the testing of various methods of forming research skills among students, including the project method, the case study method, TRIZ technology, analysis, synthesis, reproductive method, problem method and others. Attention was focused on how the use of these methods contributes to the development of critical thinking, independence and the ability to solve complex problems.

The report also covered the importance of increasing the research competence of the teaching staff through research and project activities. Special attention was paid to the fact that such activities contribute to the integration of research approaches into the educational process, stimulate the professional development of teaching staff, and enhance the academic reputation of educational institutions.

It was emphasized that one of the main ways to increase the research competence of the teaching staff is to publish scientific articles in highly rated journals indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. This activity promotes integration into the international scientific community, increases academic credibility, and develops skills in working with modern scientific metrics. Publications in such journals stimulate academic growth of teachers and contribute to the introduction of cutting-edge research into the educational process, which has a positive effect on the level of teaching and professional training of students.
Specific recommendations were given on writing scientific articles for publication in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, including the selection of journals relevant to the research topic, as well as the use of metrics such as impact factor, quartiles (Q1-Q4), CiteScore, SJR and SNIP. Ph.D., Senior lecturer at the Institute of Nuclear Physics Mombekova M.M. elaborated on how to interpret these metrics correctly in order to increase the likelihood of publication in highly rated journals.
