On May 29, 2020 in the Friendship House of Nur-Sultan the online conference “Kazakhstan: policy of historical memory” was held within the framework of the annual international project of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan “Memory for the Future”, dedicated to the Day of memory of the victims of political repression and hunger.
The participants in the international on-line conference discussed the restoration of historical justice.
The speaker at this conference was Professor of the Academy “Bolashaq” Dulatbekov Nurlan Orynbasarovich, member of the parliamentary group of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, head of the scientific and research center “Karlag: Memory for the Future”, Doctor of Law, with a report on “Building the future, keeping the memory”.
The First Deputy Head of Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan D. Abayev, Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan Zh. Tuimebayev, Chairman of the Council of the Assembly of People of Russia, Head of General Secretariat of the Assembly of People of Eurasia S. Smirnova, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus P. Zhdanovich, President of the Russian State Humanitarian University, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of History E. Pivovar, scriptwriter took part in the work of the on-line conference.
The following topics were also touched upon: the activities of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in preserving the past.
