The purpose of the curatorial hour was to explain to students the essence of the concept of “ludomania” (gambling addiction), to discuss its impact on the lives of young people, including psychological, social and financial aspects.


Senior advisor Madina Kabbasovna Abdresheva began the event with a presentation of the topic and an explanation of its importance in modern society. Statistics on the prevalence of ludomania are provided and various types of addiction are mentioned: from gambling to online games and virtual casinos.
During the discussion, the students examined the main causes contributing to the development of ludomania: stress, fast money, lack of interest and lack of life goals. Students actively participated in the debate and shared their thoughts on how gambling addiction affects a person’s behavior, financial situation, family and relationships.

They talked about methods against ludomania: self-control, participation in public life, support for loved ones and the help of professional psychologists. In addition, modern addiction treatment methods were reviewed, including therapy, participation in support groups, and social programs aimed at overcoming addiction.
At the end of the curatorial hour, the students discussed what measures they could take to prevent addiction in their lives or among their loved ones. The students noted the importance of an open discussion of such issues and expressed interest in learning more about addiction protection methods.
