The country continues to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Kazakh writer Berdibek Sokpakbayev. For several days, mass events were held in his small homeland, in the village of Narynkol, Almaty region. A monument to the outstanding classic was also unveiled here. An art school was opened in the village of Karasaz, trees were planted in the park, and compositions of classics of Kazakh and world literature were donated to schoolchildren of the village of Kostobe as part of the campaign “100 books for rural libraries”.
