On January 29, 2025, the Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Daryn” of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Regional Scientific and Practical Center for Additional Education of Children “Saryarka Daryny” of the Department of Education of the Karaganda region organized the VII regional stage of the Republican Olympiad “Abaytanu” at Bolashaq Academy, which was attended by specialized boarding schools, grammar schools, gymnasiums, lyceum schools, and school students in grades 9-10. The number of participants is 46.
The main goal of the Olympiad is a deep understanding of the cognitive, instructive, and aesthetic qualities of an artistic word through reading Abai’s work and developing students’ intellectual and creative abilities.
The Olympiad makes a great contribution to increasing students’ interest in the heritage of Abai, learning about national traditions and moral principles through the works of the great Hakim. Reading Abai and perpetuating his commandments is one of the most important principles that open the way to the future of the new Kazakhstan. Both parents, students, and the staff of teachers who were able to understand the essence of the important event were pleased with the result of the Olympiad.
This tradition has been continued this year. 46 advanced students analyzed their knowledge of Abai’s works. Students of schools in Karaganda, Balkhash, Shakhtinsk, Priozersk and Abaysky, Bukhar-Zhyrau, Karkaralinsky, Shetsky districts took part in the competition. The teaching staff of the Kazakh Language and Literature Department took part in the work to identify the communicative abilities of the participants. They were satisfied with the level of knowledge, meaningful reasoning, and conclusions of the students present.
The teachers were pleased with the achievements of the students who took part in the Olympiad in mastering the heritage of Abai. The organized Olympiad impressed with its brilliant success. The participants who took 1st place in the regional qualifying stage received permits to participate in the republican stage of the Olympiad.
