On September 2, 2024, our President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed a Message to the people of Kazakhstan. Today’s message from the President to the people of Kazakhstan has become, perhaps, the most extensive of those that have been before.
It said the following: The people of Kazakhstan are living in a completely new political reality today. Over the past five years, large-scale reforms have been implemented, and the political system has undergone a radical transformation. Fundamental changes are taking place in the public consciousness, the level of legal culture of citizens is increasing, new patterns of behavior are being formed in society and new values are taking root. The renewal of political and public life, mentality and cultural code of the nation has begun. In short, a Just Kazakhstan is being built, and, most importantly, all this fully corresponds to the aspirations of the people. Therefore, we will continue to steadily follow our strategic course and will not deviate from the planned path. Today we will discuss the plans in detail and define the goals we face.
In the context of the aggravation of the geopolitical confrontation, Kazakhstan firmly adheres to the position of a peaceful, evolutionary path.
We have identified a new vector of development, giving a new impetus to economic diversification. Inflation has slowed down, falling 2.5 times compared to the highest rate last year. The country’s international reserves exceeded $100 billion. The manufacturing industry is growing faster than the mining sector. It is important not to slow down the pace. It is necessary to launch a new investment cycle, effectively using the created reserve.
The government and akims should pay special attention to the issue of changing the structure of the economy, provide new mechanisms aimed at ensuring sustainable progress of the country. The main goal is to increase the income level of citizens. With proper organization of work, this is quite feasible.
Economic growth should be accompanied by a reduction in social inequality and a strengthening of the middle class. This is the only way we can strengthen the potential of our state. To do this, efficiency should be the key criterion in any case. Every decision, every project needs to be considered based on their benefits to the state.
New strategic directions in state policy were considered:
first. It is necessary to eliminate the imbalances between monetary and fiscal policy.
second. It is important to constantly work to improve the investment climate and business conditions.
the third. Systematic efforts should be made to fully unleash the country’s industrial potential.
fourth. It is necessary to solve the priority infrastructure problems.
fifth. It is important to consistently increase the country’s human resources potential.
sixth. It is necessary to implement comprehensive measures to strengthen the health of the nation and reboot the system of social support for citizens.
seventh. One of the main tasks is to improve the environmental situation and cultivate respect for the environment.
eighth. The efficiency of public administration should be radically improved.
the ninth. The ideology of law and order should be fully affirmed in society.
At the end of the address, the President said that he expressed the desire that we should all solve the tasks facing us pragmatically and consistently, without falling into pessimism and apathy. Not only the well-being of the people depends on this, but also the historical fate of the country in this difficult era.
We have a clear vision of the long-term prospects for the development of our state. In order to achieve our lofty goals, we need to maintain unity, show mutual support and respect.
Thanks to unity, our people have always overcome various challenges with dignity. It will continue to be so. Let’s work together to make our Homeland a just and developed state in which everyone can find their vocation and make dreams come true.
We have a common lofty mission – to build a Fair Kazakhstan for future generations, a state of equal opportunities for everyone. For this, as the Head of State, I will make every effort. I am sure that you will work tirelessly for the sake of a common goal.
