On May 6, 2024, a meeting of the Committee on Clinical Pharmacy of the Project Management Group of the Educational and Methodological Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place. The meeting was dedicated to discussing the certification course in Clinical Pharmacy.
Representatives from all pharmaceutical universities, faculties, and departments of Kazakhstan participated in the meeting. Members of the Project Management Group of the Educational and Methodological Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Clinical Medicine, including D.K. Pakhomova from the “Bolashaq” Academy, attended the meeting.
The curriculum for the “Clinical Pharmacy” course was developed by professors from Kazakh National Medical University (KazNMU) and YuKGMA.
The course curriculum was presented by Dr. pharm. sci. Professor T.A. Aryzanova.
The certification courses were developed in accordance with regulatory documents (ORK, Order No. 305, No. 218, etc.). The course comprised 1800 hours (60 credits) and was divided into 11 modules, covering general aspects of clinical pharmacy and specific nosology.
It was proposed to remove the term “patient care” from the program and retain only “pharmaceutical consultation,” as the latter term is predominantly used in most countries. However, during the voting, it was decided to retain the original terminology.
Additionally, a new candidate for the chairmanship of the Clinical Pharmacy Committee was approved during the session.
