A guided tour of the Temirtau Botanical Garden with 1st year students has been organized. On April 17, 2025, students of the FM-24-1,2 group, under the guidance of Temireeva Nazim Bagdauletovna and Tutai Daryn Sultangaliuly, were able to admire the beauty of nature and get acquainted with a variety of plants and animals.

At the Botanical Garden, students got acquainted with an extensive collection of tropical and subtropical plants. Their attention was attracted by Ficus benjamina, which lives 82 years old, it weighs 50 kg and was donated in 2021-2022. This plant grows in Southeast Asia, Australia and the Pacific Islands. In addition, palm trees (Arecaceae) and monstera (Monstera deliciosa), which grow in the rainforests of South America, were encountered. Araucaria is a coniferous plant of the Southern Hemisphere, common in Australia and New Zealand. Chlorophytum comosum, which grows in Africa and is known for its air purification properties, is also found in the garden. In addition, yucca, native to the arid regions of North and Central America, and dracaena, long–leaved ornamental plants native to Africa, grow in the garden.

During the trip, the students also observed the animals that live among the plants in the garden. For example, peacocks (Pavo cristatus) were seen in a cage. One of them is a white peacock, a rare albino species, and the other is a traditional blue–green peacock native to India and Sri Lanka. The elegant peacock feathers aroused the interest of the students. There was also a small chicken in the cage that lives with peacocks.

During a walk through the garden, the students got acquainted with the origin of plants, the peculiarities of their growth, the ecological significance, as well as the habitat of animals. Nazim Bagdauletovna and Daryn Sultangalievich aroused the interest of the students and explained the importance of nature conservation. The paths inside the Botanical Garden are paved with bricks, and stone ornaments and water elements are located between the plants, which gives the garden a special look. Natural light penetrates through the glass roof of the indoor pavilions in the garden, creating a favorable environment for plant growth.

This trip was an unforgettable experience for the students. They not only enjoyed the beauty of nature, but also expanded their knowledge of the flora and fauna. Temirtau Botanical Garden is undoubtedly a source of knowledge and inspiration!
