During the period from April 29 to May 5, 2020, the department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication carried out the final state attestation of correspondence students of the educational program 6B01702 – “Foreign language: two foreign languages”: comprehensive examinations in the main and second foreign languages and protection of diploma papers.
The final state attestation was controlled by the State Attestation Commission. Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor Ibrayeva Bayan Mukushevna was the Chairman of the Commission.
All types of final state certification were carried out through open software – jitsi.org. This program has proven to be a good way to conduct online sessions, providing the possibility of a sufficiently large number of participants in the conversation, the privacy of chat rooms, audio and video recording, etc.
The comprehensive examination for the main foreign language was held on April 30, for the second foreign language – on May 5 of this year. The comprehensive examination consisted of oral and written parts. The oral part implied an answer to a theoretical question and a monologue on a given topic, while the written part included writing a test and an essay. The program random.org was used to select the examination ticket, which generates and randomly selects numbers set in advance.
The procedure of defending diploma works was held on 29, 30 April and 4, 5 May. Before each procedure of defense on the scheduled days all members of the state attestation commission had the opportunity to get acquainted with the diploma thesis, review, antiplagiarism report and presentation of the speech.
The results of the final state attestation showed a good and excellent level of students’ preparation for complex examinations and defending their diploma works.
