On February 10, 2025, the advisors of the Department of Pedagogy, Shutenova S.S. and Tazhinin A.M., held an open curatorial hour dedicated to the “Day of the City of Karaganda” with 1st-year students of the educational programs “Pedagogy and Psychology”, “Pedagogy and Methods of primary Education”
The objectives of this event are:
To arouse students’ interest in their hometown.
- Teach them to independently study and tell new information, to recognize the sights of the city in pictures and photographs.
- Develop critical thinking, memory, listening skills.
- To foster patriotism and love for the Motherland.
During the curatorial hour, the advisors had a conversation with the students about the history of our city, the sights of Karaganda, and its achievements.
And in the end, having considered different aspects of the life and development of our city, Nadezhda Alyushenko, a student of the PMNO-24-1 group, conducted a thematic quiz with students dedicated to Karaganda. The following questions were used on this quiz:
- In what year did Karaganda arise?
- Which geologist is associated with the development of the Karaganda coal basin?
- In which city is the monument “Metallurgists” installed?
- Who was the discoverer of the largest deposits of manganese and iron ore in Central Kazakhstan?
- What is the name of the extensive book series, which includes works by writers, poets, cultural, scientific, and educational figures of the Karaganda region?
At the end of the quiz, the group advisors Sabira Sartayevna and Azat Myrzabekovich thanked the students for their active participation in it, and noted the importance of this event.
