Constitutional law “On the state symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan” was adopted on June 4, 2007. According to this Law, June 4 is celebrated annually as State Symbols Day in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
State symbols are one of the indispensable attributes of any state, embodying its identity and sovereignty. The state symbols in the Republic of Kazakhstan are the State Flag, State Emblem and State Anthem.
State Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The State Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a rectangular cloth of blue color with the image in the center of the sun with its rays, below which is a soaring eagle. At the mast is a vertical band with the national ornaments. The image of the sun, its rays, the eagle and the national ornaments are golden in color.
Author of the State Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan is Shaken Niyazbekov, an honored art worker of Kazakhstan.
National Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The Coat of Arms of the Republic of Kazakhstan is circular in shape and depicts a shanyrak on a blue background with uyks diverging in the form of sunrays to all sides. To the right and left of the shanyrak are images of mythic winged horses. In the upper part is a three-dimensional five-pointed star and in the lower part is the inscription “Kazakhstan”. The images of the star, shanyrak, uyks, mythical horses, as well as the inscription “Kazakhstan” are in gold color. – colors of gold.
The authors of the State Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan are the famous architects Zhandarbek Malibekov and Shot-Aman Valikhanov.
National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The anthem of Kazakhstan, earlier known as the song “Menin Kazakstanym” was approved by the Parliament of Kazakhstan on January 6, 2006 by the initiative of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev. It was sounded for the first time on January 11, 2006 during solemn inauguration of the Head of the state.
