The President’s message: “What should Kazakhstan expect?”

The staff of the Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication took part in the hearing of the message of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, announced on September 2, 2024, which reflected the country’s long-term development strategy in the context of global changes. It focused on important areas for Kazakhstan, such as economic development, digitalization, social policy and issues of legality.

The emphasis on digitalization and the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies is particularly interesting. The opening of the National AI Center in Astana in 2025 symbolizes the country’s desire to take a leading position in the technological field and use AI to optimize government processes. This is a step forward in the competition in the global digital technology market.

It is also important to note the President’s efforts to reform the tax system and economic policy. The optimization of tax regimes and the new Tax Code are aimed at creating more favorable conditions for business and strengthening regional economies. Support for small and medium-sized businesses, along with the new law on banks, should contribute to the growth of business activity and sustainable economic development.

Social initiatives, such as the declaration of 2025 as the Year of Working Professions, emphasize the priorities of the state in training qualified specialists, which is an important condition for the development of infrastructure projects and the growth of various sectors of the economy.

In general, the President’s address was focused on continuing strategic reforms and developing key areas necessary for sustainable growth and improving the well-being of the population. It will be important to monitor how the Government implements these ambitious goals in practice.
