On October 12, 2024, a speaking club was held on the topic “Artificial Intelligence: Benefit or Threat?”
With the senior lecturer of the Bolashaq Academy of the Department of “Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication” Alzhanova A.Y. and the teacher of the language courses “Dream Way” Tyrkesbaeva G.E.
The participants reflected on the benefits of artificial intelligence, such as process automation, learning assistance, and efficiency improvement in various fields. The risks associated with AI were also discussed: loss of jobs, safety issues, ethical dilemmas, degradation of the population and possible loss of control over technology in the future. At the end of the meeting, the participants tried to answer the question of what outweighs: the benefits of AI or potential threats to society.
The speaking club was attended by students of the Bolashaq Academy and the Dream Way language school.
