On April 23, 2025, at 08:30, an open seminar on the History of the English Language discipline on English Vocabulary was held in Auditorium 318. The seminar was conducted by senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication Alzhanova A.Y. for students of the In-23-1,2 group.

During the seminar, the key stages of the evolution of the English dictionary were considered — from the Old English period to modern English. Special attention was paid to the analysis of the influence of Germanic, Norman and Latin borrowings, as well as significant historical and cultural factors that determined the development of the lexical system of the language.
The students took an active part in interactive tasks: deciphering runes, etymological analysis of lexemes, comparing vocabulary from different periods, and also presented mini-projects illustrating the sources of English vocabulary.
The event was attended by teachers of the department and members of the educational and methodological department, who highly appreciated the substantive and methodological component of the seminar.

All the goals were achieved: the students demonstrated a deep understanding of the material, the development of analytical skills and an interest in the historical dynamics of the English language.
