Curatorial hour on the theme: “A world without drugs”

On April 7, 2025, senior lecturer of the Department of Pharmaceutical Disciplines K.S. Temireeva held a curatorial hour with students of the Fm-24-2 group on the topic “A world without drugs”. The curatorial hour was attended by teachers of the department R. B. Shashchanova, O. A. Sivolobova.

The purpose of the curatorial hour is to help students understand the harmfulness of addiction to psychoactive substances and its consequences, to give students an idea of drug addiction as a factor that destroys health, to form students’ persistent rejection of drugs, to familiarize them with criminal responsibility in the field of drug addiction, to form life skills, the ability to say “no”, the development of personal consciousness, the formation of attitudes back to life.

On the issue discussed on the agenda, senior lecturer K.S. Temireeva spoke about the dangers of drugs and health risks, i.e. that drugs destroy the nervous system, cause heart disease and weaken the immune system. Damages the lungs, liver and kidneys. It accelerates the aging of the human body, shortens life expectancy and causes mental harm, that is, drugs destroy the mind, lead to depression, anxiety and psychosis. Drug addiction makes a person dangerous to himself and society. Increases the risk of suicide. The health risks of drugs are very high. The chemicals contained in them damage all body systems. The teacher explained that regular drug use can be fatal, and urged to avoid bad habits. During the event, students of the Fm-24-2 group Amanzhol Asylzhan, Ermakhanov Ernurim expressed their opinion: ”Each country uses different approaches in the fight against drugs. While some countries have strict policies, others have introduced damage reduction programs. For example: Sweden has implemented strict anti-drug policies and treatment programs, while the Netherlands has introduced programs to legalize and reduce the harm of certain types of drugs. Singapore has the death penalty for drug trafficking. The international exchange of experience will help identify effective strategies in the fight against drugs.”
