On February 17, 2025, according to the plan of the branch of the Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication, a conversation was held on the topic “Interaction of cultures: the influence of cultural trends on the formation of the worldview of modern youth.” The event was organized by the head of the branch of the Department of “IIA and MK” Alzhanova A.Y. and senior lecturer Mombekova M.M. The 4th year students of the Bolashaq Academy and 11th grade students of the KSU Gymnasium No. 1 took part in the discussion.
During the discussion, the participants discussed the impact of modern cultural trends on the attitude of young people to traditional values, as well as the problems that arise in mindlessly following trends. The participants of the event discussed the influence of the media space on the popularization of various norms of behavior. During the discussion, students and schoolchildren shared their opinions on the impact of global trends on language, lifestyle and perception of identity. Some participants stressed that the digital environment is blurring the boundaries between cultures, creating new forms of interaction, while others expressed concern about the loss of national characteristics in the context of global cultural influence.
The discussion was held in an active format, sparking a lively exchange of views. Many interesting conclusions were drawn, including the importance of balancing the preservation of cultural heritage and the perception of new ideas, as well as the need for a critical approach to the consumption of cultural content.
Such events help to broaden horizons, teach students to analyze the ongoing cultural changes and form a respectful attitude towards the traditions of different peoples.
