On October 16, students of the 5th year of the Pharmacy educational program visited the Biotechnology and Ecomonitoring Research Park as part of the study of the discipline “Fundamentals of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology”.
The park is located on the basis of the Biology and Geography Faculty of the E.A. Buketov Karaganda University and includes 8 laboratories and research groups.
The head of the park, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Professor Margarita Yulayevna Ishmuratova, highlighted to the students approaches for developing methods of cryopreservation of plant and animal material, told what problems researchers face while maintaining the viability of different types of biological material, especially animal origin, about creating a bank of frozen samples, showed modern research equipment of laboratories.
In addition, the students got acquainted with the work of Professor, MD Smagulov N.K. on the issues of professional burnout of various groups of the population.
The students also visited the Nature Museum with great interest, saw plants, numerous stuffed animals: a bear, a tiger, a wolf, foxes, flamingos and other animals that live not only in Kazakhstan, but also living in Southeast Asia, South America, Australia.
