On September 22, 2023, an advisor’s hour dedicated to the Day of Languages was held in classroom 116 of the main building of the Bolashaq Academy at 13:00. The event was held in the format of an intellectual language quiz by senior teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication R. R. Ganeyev and M. K. Abdresheva.
Students of 1-4 years of the”Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” Educational Program took part in the Quiz for the Day of Languages. The students were divided into 4 teams of 5 people – 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year, 4th year. The teams chose a name for themselves and appointed a captain. The function of the team captain was to determine who would answer the quiz question.
The quiz included 3 groups of questions from the field of linguistics and translation studies in Russian, English and Kazakh. The teams were given 2 minutes to discuss the question and formulate the answer. If the team found it difficult to answer, or provided an incorrect answer, the right to answer this question was passed to the opposing team in the clockwise direction. For each correct answer, the team was awarded one prize point. At the end of the quiz, an independent expert calculated the points and determined the winner.
According to the results of the quiz, the winners of the Intellectual Language Quiz were 3rd year students. As prizes, the teachers presented the winners with notebooks and pens with the Bolashaq Academy’s corporate logo.
