A combination of theory and practice

On April 24, 2025, Asel Kasenovna Akhmetova, a senior lecturer at the Department of Legal and Financial Disciplines, organized and conducted a visit to the Specialized Interdistrict Juvenile Court of the Karaganda region. The event was attended by second-year students of U-23-1.

The theoretical training of students creates a certain foundation of knowledge,

a component of the professional outlook . The practical orientation of the training ensures the acquisition of professional competencies of a future lawyer. Such meetings have already become a good tradition.

We were met in court by Dyusekeeva Aizhan Autayevna, a professional mediator. An excursion was conducted for the students, they were introduced to the history of the creation of specialized juvenile courts in Kazakhstan, and they focused on the important direction of the meditation procedure. In her opinion, relations between spouses are not always based on mutual understanding, and disagreements, unfortunately, are not always resolved by reaching consensus, because most married couples are far from knowledge of psychology and law. Conflict situations regarding children are especially painful for former spouses who are parents at the same time, which contribute to bringing lawsuits to the Specialized Inter-District Juvenile Court. A special feature of the court is the possibility of obtaining qualified legal assistance by contacting legal advice or the lawyers on duty at the juvenile court.

Our Academy students should have a harmonious combination of theory and practice. One’s view of a specific life situation (especially where the interests of children are affected) in conflict situations through the prism of regulations, contracts, or judicial practice is not always sufficient to achieve a result. After all, a good lawyer is not someone who knows the law and practice, but someone who is able to model the situation, influence the circumstances of the dispute and change them in favor of his client.

Due to the huge amount of information, a future lawyer needs to develop critical thinking skills, which is expressed in considering the information received.

Working with judicial practice is the study of each specific case in the smallest detail- the facts that are particles of atoms, the formation of which is the activity of a REAL lawyer.
