A Speaking Club on the topic “The Future of Technologies” was held on the basis of the branch of the Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication. The event was attended by 4th year students of the IN-24-1 group and 11th grade students of Gymnasium No. 1.
The organizers are the head of the department’s branch, A. Y. Alzhanova, and V. V. Tereshchenko, a student of the IN-24-1 group.
The main purpose of the meeting is to develop communication skills in English, form critical thinking, increase interest in learning foreign languages and discuss issues of technological progress.

During the discussion, the participants considered the pros and cons of the rapid development of technology. The advantages and potential risks of artificial intelligence, the digitization of the educational process and the impact on traditional teaching methods, as well as the ethical aspects of using technology, including issues of personal data privacy and digital addiction, were particularly widely discussed.
The event allowed the participants to demonstrate a high level of communication skills in English, analytical thinking and the ability to argue their point of view. Such meetings expand the range of knowledge of students, contribute to the improvement of intercultural communication skills and the formation of an understanding of the role of technology in the modern world. The Department of Foreign Languages and Intercultural Communication plans to continue the Speaking Club practice and actively involve students and students in discussing topical topics in English.
